Great fundraisers to try at your school!
This mom told me about a few ideas for raising money for school
that have worked for her.
1. A clothing sale at school
People had such great clothing and much of it was not worn and name
brands. They had families donate one bag of clothing that was in great
condition. It was organized by a group of moms and made $7500.00. The
cost of the event was zero. Snack for customers were donated.
2. Our school did a total garage sale which included everything but
toys and we made $1500.00. We had a very small amount of stuff and
think had we gotten more we would have made more.
3. BINGO night is coming up at our school. Another great idea for
fun. The moms priced the evening in family packs or individual items.
Pizza and drinks are an option as well.
4. Auctions are always great, but the foot work working for donations
is tough and requires a lot of people. If you have the people, this is
a great avenue.
5.
An Elementary School in Des Moines, Iowa hosted a spelling fundraiser.
Each year teachers choose a list of 10 to 20 words for each grade
level. Family and friends pledge a certain amount fo each word the
student spells correctly on a test, taken a few weeks later. Teachers
announce the total number of words spelled correctly. They have a
celebration event for the school. They raised $7,800.00.
6.
Selling student artwork is another great ways to rbing in the bucks.
Students create artwork and it is reprinted on tons of different
items, like shirts, mugs, etc. Items go up for sale at holiday time or
mothers day and the school raises around $1,700 to $2,000.
